Luke Halpin's Lats
Admirers of Luke Halpin's physical image eagerly praise his chest and upper body. But while Luke's pecs have justifiably earned admiration, the young actor posseses another upper body muscle that deserves equal attention: the lats.
The latissimus dorsi ("lats") is actually a back muscle. It originates in the middle of the back and attaches to the upper arm where it aids arm movement. Luke Halpin, being an expert swimmer and diver, has made considerable use of this and other muscles (e.g., the rotator cuff).
In the case of Luke Halpin, the lats have been developed far beyond what would be expected in a young actor of Luke's size. Luke's lats are incredible in their size and muscularity. Whenever Luke Halpin twists his body to the side or bends over, the lats on his sides literally erupt into view, displaying a level of definition and separation that defies expectations. Even in the first feature film, Flipper (1963), Luke's lats were suprisingly well developed.
This special gallery is devoted to illustrating the astonishing physical development of Luke Halpin's lats. These scenes are easily missed when watching Luke in real motion. These pictures have been specially prepared to enable easier study and analysis of these phenomenal muscles. |
